And why not? It’s becoming an e-commerce destination for anything else.
Google wants you to go shopping on YouTube, according to a recent article from Bloomberg.
What exactly does that mean? In this post, I’ll go over it.
Direct Purchases
The concept behind YouTube shopping is to encourage individuals to buy items they see in review videos, unboxing videos, tutorials, and more. YouTube is now a shopping destination, of course. In order to make buying decisions, about half of customers use videos. But in the future, without even leaving the web, Google wants to allow individuals to buy products. Just as they’re able to do on instagram right now.
What’s changing?
In addition, Bloomberg says that YouTube has verified that it is rolling out features for product-tagging. On a small number of platforms, they are evaluating such changes.
An experiment only?
Integration of Shopify
Google is now in the process of using Shopify to assess integration. And yes, the integration will be used on YouTube to sell goods. But by offering shopping via video, how can Google make money? The business would, probably, take a share of each deal.
In addition, during the shopping trip, Google can collect details. The Big G will then use the knowledge for shopping.
